The UCLA Department of World Arts and Cultures/Dance presents FOURTH WALL, the department’s Senior Projects Showcase, with two performance programs on Fri. May 13th and repeated on Sat. May 14th. The 4 Ticketed performance programs will feature program A Fri. at 4 pm and Sat. at 7 pm, Program B Fri at 7 pm and Sat at 4 pm, with Open House exhibitions and workshops to attend before, and in between. Tickets are $6, and they can be purchased at UCLA’s Central Ticketing Office (310-825-2101 or www.tickets.ucla.edu) or the Kaufman Hall Box Office prior to the show. The Glorya Kaufman Dance Theater is located in Glorya Kaufman Hall at the UCLA, 120 Westwood Plaza, Los Angeles, CA 90095. Parking is available beside Glorya Kaufman Hall in Parking Structure Lot 4.

Fourth Wall highlights the creativity of 19 graduating seniors in the World Arts and Cultures/Dance department. This multidisciplinary program includes art investigations ranging from choreography, film, ethnographic studies, spoken word, music, visual art exhibition and interactive workshops. Over the year, these student artists have engaged themselves in exploratory processes of art making, culminating in work that explores the boundaries between the individual creative voice and ones experience of larger social questions. In the hopes of presenting with immediacy the class has reconfigured the Glorya Kaufman Dance Theater into a new intimate thrust stage configuration. The use of a decentered festival model also offers experiential diversity through the distribution of performances, installations, workshops and screenings in multiple locations around Kaufman Hall.

Artists include: Program A: Giovanna Dan, Alexsa Durrans, Evan Edwards, Jasmine Flake, Khushboo Gulati, , Renee Jonas, Julian Matulich, Tira Okamoto, Pablo F. Simental and Merima Tricic

Program B: Rachel Freeman, G’bari Gilliam, Nisha Gujral, Kim Nguyen, Sarah Summers, Sandy Vazquez, Rebecca Whitney, Gracie Winston, and Amir Zimmerman.
