WACD Alum, Arianne MacBean, LMFT (BA ’94) recently published her first book "Tough Sh!t - the angry woman’s guide to embodying change.” The self-reflection and somatic journal supports expression and embodiment to track the so-called “negative” emotions, starting with anger and moving through fear, sadness, and hurt to reach true self. With no-bullshit writing prompts to activate feelings paired with somatic exercises to support the fullness of experience, women are guided through simple steps to follow the road of reactivity toward a more fully integrated experience of self. Arianne is a licensed marriage and family therapist with a certificate in somatic psychotherapies and practices. Arianne created Tough Sh!t out of the real need of her clients to have a safe space to embrace anger as a signal pointing toward us toward authenticity.
