This work centers around two main ideas: masculinity and memory. As a Namibian gay male artist of mixed heritage that grew up during the Apartheid struggle, I am interested in the manner in which colonization and segregation influenced ideas and practices around concepts of masculinity in my country and Southern Africa in general. The process of this work stems from a broad understanding of masculinity and memory by working closely with my cast of three dancers, who contribute their experiences and embodiment of these ideas and themes.
