Choreographer Bio:
Marianna Varviani is a Greek dance theater practitioner. She has worked in the U.K., U.S.A., Brazil, Spain and Greece as a performer, choreographer, educator, director and producer. She is the founder of Selcouth and has co-founder of Ha! Theatre Ensemble. Marianna graduated from Eat15 Drama school/University of Essex with a BA in Contemporary theater and is currently a UCLA fellow on the Department of World Arts and Cultures/Dance. She has worked in performances with, amongst others: Brian Astbury, Uri Roodner, Ken Cambel, Ian Morgan, Tobby Clarke, Patari Project, Stella Spyrou, Murto Delimichali, ‘Ohi Paizoume’. She has produced & co-created: ‘Star-trip’, ’The age of the Woodcock’, ‘Colorful Water’, ‘Super Sweet Pergamond’, and ’10 cmUp’. She has choreographed ‘Vortex’, ‘Ahtikos_ a dance of liberation’, ‘Phoenix’ and ’Time to Dream’. Her works have been shared through: ‘Arc for Dance Festival’, the ‘European Dance Network’, and ‘Our Festival’.
