Will Rawls is a New York-based choreographer, dancer and writer. His work has been presented by MoMA, MoMA PS1, Portland Institute for Contemporary Art, The Chocolate Factory Theater, MCA Chicago, PICA, ICA Boston, The Walker Art Center and Yale Repertory Theatre. Fellowships and residencies include the Guggenheim Foundation, the Foundation for Contemporary Arts, United States Artists, the Rauschenberg Foundation, the MacDowell Colony and several other universities and museums. In 2016, Rawls co-curated Lost and Found: six weeks of performances at Danspace Project that addressed the intergenerational impact of HIV/AIDS on dancers, women and people of color. Rawls lectures widely in academic and community contexts, including a 2020 keynote lecture at the Collegium for African Diaspora Dance, Harvard University's Carpenter Center and UC Berkeley Arts Research Center. His writing has been published by the Hammer Museum, MoMA, Dancing While Black Journal, Artforum International and This Is Not a Gun.
